Situated at the southwest corner of Vermilion and Swisher streets in Danville just a short drive from downtown, the property is bordered on two sides by a reproduction Victorian fence. New landscaping and mature trees and shrubbery abound throughout the property. Perennials welcome spring and visitors to The Yorkshire B&B. Sitting on the front porch swing, perhaps you could catch a view of the flock of yellow finches that munch on the coneflower seeds in early fall. From the back porch you may catch a glimpse of the bunnies as they run through the gardens. This year a family of cardinals frequented the bird feeder and there is a black squirrel named Midnight that comes by for peanuts. Be on the lookout for Homer and Hemi Hummer who will swoop in for a quick snack. Have ice tea in the wrought iron gazebo in the newly planted rose garden in the front yard.
Built in 1917 by Mr. Swisher, the house has been home to only four families. The house consist of four bedrooms and two & a half baths. The parlor fireplace has a log in the winter ready for you to enjoy. The formal dining room invites you with its table draped in lace and set with fine china for breakfast or just a cup of tea before turning in for the night. Travel through the French doors with your laptop and make your way to the back porch.
