Joseph Cannon’s Election Years

Come hear an account of Cannon’s 1884 campaign for re-election in the Illinois Fifteenth Congressional District against Danville’s Medal of Honor winner General John Charles Black. Included will be a recitation of Cannon’s speech given on the occasion of the Republican Presidential nominee James G. Blaine’s brief “whistle stop” appearance in Danville on October 24, 1884.
