“Downstate” Exhibit Artist Douglas C. Johnson
Doug’s exhibit “Downstate” features artworks that reflect and explore his deeply rooted Midwestern experience. “The painting process is central to my studio practice, and this is an opportunity to explore place, investigate color and light, and find expression in the everyday and the often overlooked.”
Johnson holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in printmaking and painting from Illinois State University and a Master of Fine Arts in painting from Northerin Illinois University. He has exhibited in Chicago at several galleries in the River North district, the Chicago International Art Exhibition, and he continues with an active exhibition schedule.
An artist reception will be held on Saturday, July 26. The time will be announce by email and will be posted on thier website when the time is set.
