39th Annual Conservation Olympics

The Vermilion County Conservation District will be hosting the 39th Annual Conservation Olympics event at Forest Glen Preserve on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Six Vermilion County Schools (Oakwood, Salt Fork, Judith Giacoma, Mary Miller Junior High, Schlarman, and Bismarck) will send their 6th grade students to compete in Olympic-style events while also having to answer conservation-related questions.

The schedule of events is below, we would love to invite you to attend to cover the event!

We will headquarter our event at the Edgwood Center, it’s the first building facility you will see upon entering Forest Glen. Over 400 students will be in attendance from those six schools so we will be easy to find in the park!

9:15 am Opening Ceremonies

9:30 – 10:45 am Scavenger Hunt
Animal Game

9:30 – 12 pm Obstacle Course

10:45 – 12 pm Nature Race
Nature Hike
Wildlife Scramble
Environmental Relay Race

12 pm Lunch

12:30 pm Class Feud

1:45 pm Award Presentations
