Located in the heart of Downtown Danville, the Fischer Theatre opened in 1884 as the legendary Grand Opera House. It was renamed the Fischer Theatre in 1913.
Thanks to philanthropist Julius W. Hegeler II and the Hegeler Foundation, the Fischer Theatre, closed since 1982, has gone through a total renovation, bringing it back to its’ original glory. From its ornate and luxurious surroundings, to its nearly perfect acoustics, the Grand Old Opera House entertains to packed houses once again.
