Local Windbreaker/Rissman employees produced over 300,000 jackets for World War II Army personnel. On the right side of the mural, a replica of the jacket is shown on the soldier depicted. When peacetime returned, the famous all-weather jacket, sold under the trademarked name “Windbreaker,” became a favorite worldwide.
American soldiers at home and abroad benefited from the patriotic devotion to excellence of the men and women employed by the Rissman & Son Company of Chicago, Danville and Westville.
