This historic stadium was built in 1945 and opened in 1946 as a Brooklyn Dodgers farm location. Home to many minor league teams in it’s history, the Stadium has rostered over 100 major league players and/or coaches. In 1947, the Major League Brooklyn Dodger’s played and exhibitiion with the Danville Dodgers. Brooklyn’s roster included players like Carl Furillo, Duke Snider, Peewee Reese, and Jackie Robinson.
Fans can still go to the renovated Stadium, enjoy America’s game and see future Major Leaguers. It is home of the wooden bat Prospect Collegiate League Danville Dans (est. 1988). Area schools play there in the spring.
