Hot Rod Lincoln Walldog Mural

This mural reminds us of an era in our history when cruising through the downtown on a Saturday night to see friends was the highlight of the week.  (Of course, Honest Abe would not have been at the wheel, but it was likely that a pair of fuzzy dice would have been hanging from the rear view mirror.)

A Danville Lincoln-Mercury dealership was located at the corner of Harrison and Franklin Streets until its owners decided to move the dealership and replace it with a bowling alley – still operating today as Lincoln Lanes.

The actual 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan featured an aerodynamic hood ornament rather than the horseshoe ornament that was added as a nod to building-owner Leo Bratland, a horseshoe competition champion.
