Memorial Day Ceremony at Danville National Cemetery
On May 25, 2026, at 11 a.m., Danville National Cemetery will host a Memorial Day ceremony to commemorate those who have given their lives while serving in America’s military.
The ceremony will include guest speakers, live performances of local musicians, and a wreath-laying ceremony.
The Department of Veterans Affairs Danville National Cemetery will host a solemn Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony, accompanied by speeches, a moment of silence, a rifle volley, and the playing of Taps on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. Patriotic music will be provided by the Danville Municipal Band.
Local musician, Kurt Kiser will perform the National Anthem.
The Illinois Marine Corps. League will Post and Retire the Colors.
The Rifle Volley, and Taps, will be provided by the American Legion Post 210 of Danville.
VA Illiana Police Services will assist with traffic control.
Please bring your own chair if you don’t wish to stand. The ceremony will last approx. 1 hour.
The Danville National Cemetery respectfully asks no one to park in the grass of the cemetery.
In anticipation of the ceremony flags will be placed on every grave in the cemetery.
Volunteers are invited to join this effort on Saturday, May 23rd, from 10 a.m.
Volunteers for the flag placement do not need to RSVP.
