The camouflage-colored A-7 Corsair II plane that sits as a monument at the southwest corner of Logan Avenue and West Main Street was repainted as part of Walldogs 2.0 in 2011.
On loan from the National Museum of the United States Air Force near Dayton, Ohio, the plane monument came to Danville in 1993 and honors Chanute Air Force Base, which closed in Rantoul that year after 76 years.
