DESCRIPTION:The Vermilion County Museum Society will open The Lamon House the first Sunday of each month from May through October from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.\, with Becky and Alan Woodrum portraying Melissa Beckwith Lamon and Hiram Beckwith. \nThe Lamon House was built by Joseph B. and Melissa Beckwith Lamon around 1847. \nThe home\, which originally only had four main rooms\, is split log construction under clapboard. \nOriginally located at 302 W. Terry Lake gave more than 5\,000 hours of his time to the Fischer\, ushering shows\, caring for the café\, and helping restore and clean the building with unmatched dedication and heart.\nBut Terry’s legacy reaches far beyond the theatre. He was a champion for his neighborhood\, a tireless volunteer\, and an advocate for those who needed a voice. He believed deeply in community\, in dignity\, and in leaving places better than he found them.\nNaming the café in his honor is a small way to recognize a life lived in service to others. His spirit will continue to live on in the Fischer and in the community he loved so deeply.\nCome celebrate with us. We’d love to see you there.
