What thrived? What struggled? How did they manage specific insects or pests? Master Gardeners will share information on seed varieties\, soil amendments and other topics. They will also have ideas on how to use and store excess produce to avoid waste. There will be tasting at the end of this popular event. \nThere is no charge to attend; however\, attendees are asked to register so there are adequate handouts and materials. DESCRIPTION:The River to Rail Ride bicycling event is back this year on September 9\, 2023. \nHosted by the Vermilion County Conservation District\, the event will have four routes starting at Kennekuk County Park with all proceeds benefiting the continued development of the Kickapoo Rail Trail. \nThree of the routes will take cyclists to the Vermilion County Kickapoo Rail Trail section which includes the 1/4-mile Trestle Bridge 90 feet above the Middle Fork River. The fourth route will stay within Kennekuk County Park\, perfect for beginning cyclists and families with young children. \nRegistration price includes SAG stops and support along the routes\, a t-shirt\, and lunch. \nRegistration begins at 7 AM Saturday\, at the White Oak Barn at Kennekuk County Park.  They’ll be out there all morning\, so you can get started whenever you like. \nRegistration Link \nCall 217-442-1691 for more information.
