DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate The Taste of Westville during our 150th Sesquicentennial Celebration!!! During its early days\, Westville had many immigrants who lived separately in their own neighborhoods that evoked the tastes\, smells\, and sounds of different cultures in each neighborhood; the town was known as a “Little Chicago” as it mirrored the different cultures there. \nMimi’s Kitchen & Catering will be recreating a variety of ethic foods that are well known in the community. Tickets can be purchased online or at The Westville American Legion located at 115 S. State Street\, Westville Il.\, 61883. Ticket price is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. \nDoors open at 5 pm for food and will be served until 8 pm. Logan Kirby Band will be playing from 5 pm to 9 pm and the Queen of Hearts drawing is at 7 pm. Hope to see you all there!

DESCRIPTION:Danville Barbershop Chorus will host “Polecats in the Park\,” a FREE concert at the Lincoln Park Stage. \n“’Polecat’ songs are some of the bedrock barbershop staples\,” noted chorus director Marty Lindvahl. “Folks will recognize some of the traditional numbers\, like ‘My Wild Irish Rose\,’ ‘Let Me Call You Sweetheart’ or ‘Wait Till The Sun Shines Nellie.’” Other numbers will include “The Chordbusters March” and “With A Little Help From My Friends.” The program should last about 30-40 minutes. \nThose attending are invited to bring their lawn chairs\, with some benches available for seating.
