SUMMARY:River to Rail Bike Ride for KRT
DESCRIPTION:The River to Rail Ride bicycling event is back this year on September 13\, 2025. \nHosted by the Vermilion County Conservation District\, the event will have four routes starting at Kennekuk County Park with all proceeds benefiting the continued development of the Kickapoo Rail Trail. \nRegistration is now open. All proceeds from this fundraising bicycle event will support the continued development of the Kickapoo Rail Trail. \nThe four SAG-supported cycling routes – 7.5-mile\, 30-mile\, 37-mile\, and 63-mile – all begin and end at the White Oak Barn\, Kennekuk County Park. With the exception of the 7.5-mile route\, cyclists will bike the entire completed section of the Vermilion County KRT including the 1/4-mile Trestle Bridge 90 feet over the Middle Fork River.Those that register by Thursday\, August 28 will be guaranteed a t-shirt in their requested size. DESCRIPTION:Summer Market Season 2025 \nEvery Saturday from May 17 – October 4\, 2025 \n8 AM – Noon \nAgain this year\, the location is at the DIY Storage building at 2721 N. Vermilion- it is near Planet Fitness and some of you may know it as the old Kmart lot. \n  You may enter from Vermilion Street at the light\, or Townway at the old Kmart entrance and Liberty via the Village Mall.   \nThere is plenty of parking on the east and west ends of the lot and it is smooth enough for wheelchairs\, scooters and walkers.  \n  \nThe market will feature 30 to 50 vendors every Saturday\, a food truck\, a kids activity booth and special events throughout the Summer. \nWe will accept LINK and offer a free matching voucher to purchase fruits and vegetables for every dollar you use on you LINK purchases- it is double your LINK dollar value!  \n  \n There is also a Danville Farmers Market Loyalty Program which awards $2 in farmer market bucks for every $20 spent at the market.    \nDanville Farmer Market Bucks are available to purchase that can be utilized as gift cards or as a way of saving for future purchases.  \n  \n We hope you will support us EVERY SATURDAY and will see YOU at the market!  \n Danville Farmers Market is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and is currently looking for sponsors so feel free to inquire about these opportunities to support local.  \n Email Susan at danvillefarmersmarket2017@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:FREE Event! \nForest Glen Preserve – Pioneer Homestead Cabin \n\n\nIf historical textiles\, homesteading\, or crafting pique your interest\, you’ll find this event both informative and enjoyable.\nLocal fiber artists will be running a Natural Dye Day event at the Pioneer Homestead Cabin in Forest Glen Preserve. This event is an opportunity to drop-in and ask questions about the art of spinning fur into yarn\, dyeing it\, then crafting custom pieces. The process of dyeing the fiber over an open fire using natural ingredients like walnuts and goldenrod takes nearly a full day. The artists will use this time to knit\, share\, and converse with visitors\, much like communities would have done for centuries. \nTo dye your own pieces\, please arrive by 9:00am.\nMaterials Charge: $10.
