OPEN HOUSE
On Veterans Day, November 11, the Vermilion County War Museum (307 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61832) will host an open house to celebrate their 20th Anniversary from 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm. This open house will be a free admission day at the museum with donations accepted.

FREE CONCERT
The celebration continues at St. James United Methodist Church (504 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL 61832) as the Vermilion County War Museum welcomes special guests the US Navy Band Great Lakes. As the Navy’s “Ambassadors to the Midwest,” Navy Band Great Lakes serves Commander, Naval Service Training Command in support of community relations and Navy awareness in an 11-state area from Ohio to North Dakota.

“Pride in Service” has been the theme for Navy Band Great Lakes for more than a century. From 1911, when the band first formed, to 1917, when Lieutenant Commander John Philip Sousa served as Bandmaster, to today’s Director, Lieutenant Patrick Hill, our music represents the pride and professionalism that is synonymous with the United States Navy.

The concert is free, but tickets are required due to limited seating. For tickets, visit Vermilion County War Museum Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm or on Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.  Limit two tickets per person.
